The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s smartest robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. The most significant innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle detection system. It's the first robot to provide you with pictures of the objects that it encounters, meaning you can instruct the robot to stay clear of it.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot to mop we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease and leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. It can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't vacuum in areas you don't wish to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off by speaking to it.
Its design is also superior to the rest with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy robotic rather than a loud, loud one. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties and is ideal to reduce the time spent cleaning.
In our tests, we observed that the j7+ quickly eliminated dirt, dust and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in place, instead of scattering it across the floor. It even managed to take small gravel and sand which other robots couldn't do. It did all this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.
The j7+, although not as sophisticated as the $1,217 Roomba S9and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot and isn't able to clean the stairs, it's an excellent choice for those who require both a vacuum and a mop. It's not expensive, and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a while to download updates, and sometimes it's difficult to know if the update is actually functioning until you've seen it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best option is probably one that is a hybrid. These robots come with a water tank so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. These bots also come with many additional features, including smart mapping and small object avoidance and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they can be pricey at full retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.
Roborock makes some of our most loved robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't have some of the more luxurious features (like no-go zones or multi-story memories) but it's an excellent option if you are willing to make some compromises to save a few dollars.
The Q5+ is extremely soft when it comes to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it a great option for homes with a lot of furniture. It is also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is an area that many robot vacuums that are less expensive do not excel in. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is fantastic and has very few missed corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled by a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleanings or schedules, establish virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map or re-label rooms.
If you opt for the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, however, once it's in place it can be done easily. It also has an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't an essential feature for the majority of people but it will aid in keeping track of your robot's maintenance intervals with ease.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design is among the most innovative in the market however, it's costly.
Its base station looks good and is hidden when it's not in use, and the size is relatively compact. But the station's main selling feature is the way it automatizes various tasks and functions that most other robots leave up to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot fully charged and clean.

Eufy is an Anker company that has an established track record of making robot vacuums that offer the perfect balance of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on hard and carpeted floors, as well as mopping functions at an affordable price. It's easy to set up by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on and plug in the charging dock. The app walks you through several steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock will need to be placed near an outlet with plenty of room to move.
The G30 is a small device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, meaning it can fit under most couches and pieces of low-clearance furniture. The design is less flashy than some of the rival models, with sleek black finishes and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs a space in an arc for two minutes). The way the G30 cleans is what separates it from other models. It makes use of an integrated map to make a picture of the immovable objects in its path. It remembers the things it has cleaned and where it cannot access. When it needs to recharge, it automatically returns to its base and resumes cleaning from where it began.
The sleek G30 has its flaws, though. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower recurring costs. It is faster to charge, has similar battery life and performs better on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It has a bigger dust bin, which doesn't require more emptying. It also has boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is, however is more affordable and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't have to be emptied as often, and it has less trouble with bulky materials like cereal.
